The graphs below show the approximate population visible from the bluffs at both ends of the parking lot (the section of the rookery known as View Point 3). Seals visible from VP3 represent approximately 40% of the total rookery population. SAMs (sub-adult males, ages 4-7) and adult males are shown separately because their numbers are so much smaller than those of the other populations. As the lower graph suggests, the probability of surviving to age 8 is small.
